Today, Duncan’s First Nation on-reserve Members primarily reside on one of its ten original reserves (#151A), located 4km south of the hamlet of Brownvale, Alberta and 52km west of Peace River, Alberta. As of September 5, 2012, the Duncan’s First Nation Community represents 268 Members, with approximately 130 Members living on reserve. Our second reserve is the William McKenzie reserve (#151K), located approximately 40km southeast of Peace River.
In addition to the governance and management activities of Chief & Council and our Department of Administration, Duncan’s First Nation provides opportunities and services through its wide range of Band Departments, including Health, Education, Social Assistance, Economic Development, Lands Management, Operations & Maintenance, and Housing. Functioning as a small municipality, Duncan’s First Nation provides its own water services, water treatment, and sewage management, while serving approximately 40 homes, 3 multi-family condominium facilities, and 6 commercial buildings.
